Is Video The Key to Reaching Your Audience?

By | Web Tools | No Comments

This came to me a few weeks ago while on vacation. I was attempting to watch a free video mini course. My location did not have free Wi-Fi UGH! However I’m always prepared and whipped out my Verizon card and logged in no problems. However as I was watching the videos it would stop buffer, play, stop buffer play.

UGH! Very frustrating as the information I was watching was most beneficial.

It made me wonder: Are we serving our audience when we provide one format for receiving our information? It could also be strategic move on the part of the presenter? Since we all know people learn differently maybe providing several forms of receiving information makes it that much more valuable.

Also consider there are several different learning styles:

  1. Auditory: Where you learn through listening
  2. Tactile/Kinesthic: Where you learn by doing, moving, touching
  3. Visual: Where you learn through seeing

Imagine if you received an Ebook that also came with an audio version. This has happened to me on two occasions and I’ve utilized both formats. Or if you received an e-newsletter where the feature article was written and in audio format. I’ve also experienced the benefits of this. It’s great when you’re on the go! Considering most people are holding their Internet connection in the palm of their hands at some point in the day it makes since to provide several formats of the information.

The next time you create your next E-newsletter/Ezine, Feature Article, Video Blog Post, or Teleseminar, consider the different learning styles along with the various Internet connections that people have. While we can’t be all things to all people, we can offer various options to get our information to those who are interested that learn differently or are technically challenged like I was a few weeks ago.

Why Use Social Media?

I was slow to get into the Facebook and Twitter game personally because well, I didn’t have a whole lot going on. And did people really want to know my favorite books, tv shows, or that I was on my way to the gym? I’ve since learned differently.

Years ago I presented in home art shows. During that time I learned it took at least 8 times for someone to see my door hanger, flyer, or voice mail message before responding. Social media allows you to do this very easily without feeling like a pest. You can present yourself, your product, and your business again and again.

Social Media:

  • Allows your following to get to know not only your business, but you as a person
  • Gives you more opportunity to establish a relationships
  • Gives you an opportunity to present your offerings again and again

The people followed most are:

  • Engaging
  • Warm
  • Personable
  • Provide valuable content
  • Communicate several times daily

Check your social media strategies:

Are you offering a good balance between sales promotions, business content, and personal content?

Do the characteristics listed about describe your approach?

If not, consider reinventing your strategy and get the most out of social media.

Build Credibility and Sell Your Products On Amazon

By | Building Online Credibility | One Comment

I recently had lunch with a friend of mine who published her first book back in 2006 and has since revised it. It’s funny, she’s a writer, but doesn’t really enjoy reading and so she makes her books interactive for readers just like her. I asked her if it would be available on her website and she said “Yes”. I then asked her if it would be available on Amazon. She said “No” and added “doesn’t that cost a lot?” I told her “NO”. In fact, I had recently done some research on selling products on Amazon.

I discovered they offer a great sales package and have two different options. Individual or Corporate depending on the quantity of products you’re looking to sell. The good news is if you’re selling less than 40 products Amazon doesn’t charge a fee until it’s purchased. Just like with PayPal, the fees do not come out until a transaction takes place. You have the option for Amazon to fulfill the orders or you fulfill them yourself. Either way getting your product on Amazon can get you noticed by people who otherwise may not even know you exist.

To start selling your product on Amazon.

  1. Get an ISBN number if you are selling a book or CD.
  2. Get copies of your work.
  3. Sign up with Amazon!

Creating Your First Online Seminar

By | Teleclasses | No Comments

The majority of my clients provide online resources including teleseminars to those on their list. In working with them I’ve realized the power of the Internet. It didn’t fully hit home until I started talking with others who were interested getting into business, but clueless when it came to the Internet. I quickly realized how ahead of the curve my online business owners were. And for me how sheltered I was in thinking that everyone was thinking from a global standpoint. I don’t believe every business can transition to the Internet, nor is each business owner prepared for doing business online. However, if you’re looking to leverage your time, make more money, and reach a larger audience, then you definitely need to also take your business online.

Here are just a few benefits of online seminars:

  1. Location no longer is an issue.
  2. Attendance is no longer based on the location of your event. Everyone can attend regardless of where they are.
  3. You present in the comforts of your home, office, or wherever you may be.
  4. You don’t loose time traveling to and from your event or in setting up and closing down your event.
  5. You save money because a venue isn’t needed.
  6. You don’t have to provide printed materials instead they are delivered digitally.
  7. You don’t have to have snacks or prizes to entertain during the presentation.

It sounds great right? But how do you actually do that and where do you start. Glad you asked. Complete the opt-in in the right sidebar to get our free report “Take the Stress Out Of A Teleclass, 10 Tips for Getting Started”.
